1 | A little background of Octal Number System |
2 | How to Use Octal Calculator |
Our octal calculator performs conventional mathematical operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division on octal numbers.
You’ve most likely heard of these operations being carried out on decimal system but they can also be performed on other systems, in this case: octal.
Not only that, but these operations on other systems also have various practical applications as well which you would read about later in the article.
Let’s first get the basics right!
What is octal? It is a number system with a base 8 represented by digits from (0 to 7), unlike the decimal system that has a base of 10.
Octal numerals can be constructed from binary numbers by grouping subsequent binary numbers into classes of three (beginning from the right).
For instance, the binary characterization for decimal value 74 is 1001010. Two 0s can be put at the left side: (00)1 001 010, corresponding the octal digits 1 1 2, giving the octal signification for the decimal value of 45 as 112. To-Do calculation according to the binary number system check binary Calculator and for Hexadecimal check Hex Calculator.
In order to make calculations, just follow the steps given below:
And that’s all, it’s as simple as that.
